I want to know why it is that a person can be on disability, getting SSDI, has NO insurance because wife was laid off, but can NOT get Medical Assistance. This person also has $1400.00 a month in prescriptions, has been recently told his heart is failing and there is nothing they can do. The county assistance that they get is horrible. They never answer their phone, never have they received a call back from the messages left, and they have the balls to make several mistakes on their application and turn them down. How are they supposed to right a wrong that someone else is doing if they wont give them the time of day? And just for clairity, this is a County in WI and starts with an M. Im afraid if I put the name down I will somehow be hunted down and retaliated on. Paaaaathetic. The wolves are at their door wanting payment on thier medical bills. Mayo Clinic gives them an application to see if they can forgive some of their bill, but they want ALOT of private info, from 3 months ago, which has nothing to do with what is going on know. Besides that the last time they filled out one of the applications, the husband was not working, waiting to hear from disability and they had less money then they have now and they still turned them down. So why bother. It makes a person, who has been givin a limited time to live, just give up. Our government does NOT care, and has not for a very long time. Unlike our government, we can not turn around anytime we want and give ourselves a raise, on top of the top of the line insurance they have. We are becoming a third world country and fast. In order to get any kind of help you have to be living in a card board box, or be laying face down in the the street. It is very frustrating, when all I can do is watch as this family suffers through.

I am 32 yrs old married to my high school sweetheart for 11 yrs. Together we have a 14 yr old and a 7yr old. We were young parents and during our time with trying to make ends meet with jobs that do not pay much and child care we have not been able to save the money needed to fix credit to get a home loan. My credit is not terrible but it needs improvement but when you are paying almost 1000.00 in rent and life with children saving is not something that is easily done. We don't have savings we are starting to get out of living check to check but really want to purchase a home! There are so many programs to help but none when taking a chance to finace someone that needs a home. I have always wanted to own my own home and it is a shame that 10yrs ago when I was 22 didn't have a stable job I could have gotten finaced for 0% down but now that I have a good job that I have worked for 5 years I can't get approved for anything. I have a judgement on my credit that I can't afford to pay so I will most likely never be able to have the american dream. Thank you Struggling to purchase a home in Tn.

in response to adamleap...   Hi Adam, I doo not wish to post my name publicly because of fear. I am disabled from an abusive ex-husband, I have a son and a daughter, neither are from him. He divorced me after he found out I would be disabled for life, and I suffer from chronic pain daily. He went to another town and divorced me by publication, I would not know of this without one of his friends telling me. I thought that to do that, was illegeal but have found out it is not. I lost a chance of being in front of a judge or jury to explain my condition and situation, he has a high paying job, I was married to him for 12 years, and in my state I would be getting a family support check from him...I live off of S.S. and a small pension from my work after saving enough money to hire an atty. I went back to court , my so called atty happened to be in "cahoots" (unknowing to me) with his atty.(which by the way, is know been disbarred) my atty. also lied to me about several things that would be pertanent to my case, and did not represent my case fairly or in front of a judge at all in simple dogged me into to signing a papern I thought was uncoooth but he kept saying he would take it back to court or some other facts came out, which ofcourse he never did. I talked to my legal aid office and they basically told me I had been railroaded by my atty. Which ofcourse leaves me in the same situation I was in before hiring him, (he got 125.00 per month awarded to me). right before my husband disabled me, I had a great career, a savings of 75,000.00 that was mine alone earned, outside of my regular job, but my med. bills and living expenses have long excceded that. I lost my home, cars, way of life, and now have not enough money to hire another atty. My ex has a home paid for, 2 motorcycles, boats, and alot of the money we earned together all ended up with him while I was busy in the hospital and getting rehab. It has been years of suffering and wanting to give up, but the American in me says I should somehow get my rights in front of a judge to straighten this out, I deserve atleast what was mine and my childrens from my working and savings alone, back from him. I get extremely upset and have a hard time and without the money to hire another atty. and the know how to get this back in court fear what will happen to me as I grow older as well as my childrens wefair. I really need someone to help me put this in writing to present to another atty. as well as the Atty's fee. Can you give me any suggestioons of help, and are there any housing or lenders that could help me secure a decent home. Desperate for to long...

in response to shirleybill...   I am a christian mother, married for 18 years. We have nine children. We never missed a mortgage payment even one time until last year when my husband and I were laid off , money that was in savings kept us afloat for awhile, then it got to the point that we were overcome by the bills. My husband just started back to work, but our house is already in foreclosure . I was trying to flow this feed to see where to go to get help. We owe 150,000 on the house. To get out of foreclosure we need 15,000$ I got lost in all the topics, with nine children all 16and under there is no where to go, and rents are more expensive than our once mortgage payment. Please let me know if you know where to turn...

I am a disabled 55 year old female. With many physical ailments, it is difficult for me to get around. My husband has been unemployed for over 1 1/2 years and with unemployment benefits ending, we can not live on my social security disability check. I need help. Currently I can not get around by my self because of the difficulties walking, I need a power wheel chair and because of taking care of my family for all these years, my teeth are rotten and falling out of my mouth, the little I have left. I try to make children that are terminally ill a memory quilt .. no cost to them .. and I can't afford to do that either. Can you help. We are so far in debt .. I don't see and end is sight .. we have over $100,000 in medical bills / bills / rent ... you name it we owe them .. I am fearful for my husband sanity .. I need him strong to take care of me and with no money .. well I hope you can see what I mean.

Hi,
I am a 54 year old disabled man. I have a bad seizure disorder and recently diagnosed with P.A.D. I have a solid background in computers, servers, and I have spent years consulting small and large businesses in information services. I also used to teach A+ training to young children and adults. I am seeking a grant to which I can secure a building or house in which I can do this. Also out of this I would like to offer web design, telecom, and also have those classes taught for no-cost or low fee, with the income from design services and telecom work covering those expenses.

Is there a place that helps with bills. I had to move from a job that made 12.21/hr to another area to help assist my roomates parents who are dying. She also has bad health issues, remission from cancer, brittle bones and diabetes. She has a son who is legally blind (age 20) and I have a son with special needs. Since she cannot work she helps take care of her parents, her child and my 18 yo son (who is not able to be on his own yet, mentally). I finally found a job (11$/hr) 45 minutes away from her sisters house which we had to take over payments. If you know of anyone who could help with a one time assistance with a $300 electric bill and $440 house payment, that would be so gracious. I was two months behind on our vehicle payment and I paid that bill so I can keep working. I am working so hard to support everyone, I feel drained and defeated needing to ask for help. We need to keep the lights on and a roof over our heads. I asked my bank for a small loan but my credit is not worthy enough because of all my son's hospital bills I have outstanding on credit cards..

It's sad I recently lost my job and am currently penniless because of having to pay my bills ahead of time since the checks for now have stopped, but i have no money, no income and no food and have to wait another 7 days or so till I can get my food stamps.  The food donation places won't help me because i'm not a woman, my ex has my son, and I'm not over 60.  So now what do I do?  Why did I have to help pay part of my taxes to these places that will never help me.  I have eaten 3 pieces of toast in three days because no one wants to help a single man that is just trying to get back on his feet.  I'm seriously considering going down to the store and stealing the food, but then where does that put me?  In jail,  3 hot meals and a bed.  Doesn't sound anywhere near as my life right now.  Maybe our government needs to think about what is causing people to go out and steal to survive.  I shouldn't be waiting for food stamps for 2 weeks nor have to deal with not being able to get help from all of these places that say they help the needy.  Why is it that I don't need to eat and a woman does?

IT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE TO REALIZE THAT BIG FOUNDATIONS NEVER HELP PEOPLE WHO ARE IN REAL NEED!! MOST GRANT FUNDS FIND THEIR WAY INTO UNSCRUPULOUS PEOPLE, WORKING IN THE ORGANIZATION THAT HAS BEEN FUNDED.

I SAY THIS FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I AM CHAIRMAN OF A VERY SMALL NGO IN INDIA. WE DO NOT HAVE FUNDS YET TO BE ABLE TO GET A TAX EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT. A VOLUNTEER'S SON, AGED 9 YEARS, WAS RUN OVER BY A SPEEDING TRUCK AND IS NOW FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. I APPROACHED NUMEROUS FOUNDATIONS FOR FINANCIAL HELP, BUT NONE HAVE COME FORWARD TO HELP THE POOR CHILD. HE DOES NOT REQUIRE MILLIONS.BUT ONLY USD 21000 FOR HIS MEDICAL AND REHABILITATION. I EVEN REQUESTED TO START A HELP CAMPAIGN TO MOBILIZE FUNDS FOR THE CHILD....YET......TILL NOW I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND 21000 KIND-HEARTED PEOPLE WITH A CONSCIENCE WHO WOULD BE WILLING TO DONATE JUST ONE DOLLAR FROM THEIR PICKET FOR A GENUINE CAUSE.

ALL THOSE WHO READ THIS MAIL, IF THEY SO WISH TO HELP THE CHILD MAY CONTACT yakshinifoundations@live.com FOR FURTHER PROOF OF THE CHILD AND PAYMENT ROUTING.

THANKS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

in response to CARROLLEE...   If that Financial Company bought your taxes through a tax foreclosure, then you still have the option of paying the amount of taxes that were due, plus the interest that has been incurred. You will need to get with the fianancial company and discuss this matter, and make arrangements to start paying it out.

That is because there are homes available at a low cost. A family can own a home with as little as 1000.00 and usually at the higher range, no more than 4000.00 for a completely paid for home. I have the resources to locate the homes, but the funding for those homes is a problem. I have added my own money in, to get started.

These home are available nation wide, and i do know there are many people right now, that are needing homes.

You can start by making you up some business cards. Post them in places that people normally frequent. Set you prices low enough to cover all your expenses, by leaving you a profit, and people will start to call on you. When you meet people in public, offer them your business card.

You may also want to run an ad in your local paper.

I certainly feel for you. I have just posted a request for donations for the aid of people needing homes. So far, i have started off the funding with my own cash, and am waiting for others to add to it, so that people can own their own homes, with no payments.

I do not have the funds available right now, but with the amount of cash that you need, i could provide many homes for many people. I certainly do hope that someone will answer your request.

 in response to the realist...

I'm sure most of the people on here are well aware of how or why they are in the situation they are in.  They are facing reality every day, and if having faith or believing in a higher power helps them get through rough times then so be it.  I do believe in God, and I still believe there are people in a position that can make a difference.  Not everyone deserves what they get.  God helps everyone, especially the ones who don't believe.  There is a difference between tough love and cynicism.  Instead of being grateful for getting out of your own situation and offering suggestions or words of encouragement you belittle them.  Mocking people and being cruel to them doesn't make you a cold hearted bastard, and it doesn't make you a realist, it just makes you pathetic.

Hi, My name is Adam I accidently came accrost this site. I do not know where you live but I have some basic knowledge that can help you. First I am a quad who has been on ssi for almost 11 years. In the past 8 years I went to college got a bachlors degree working on my masters. went to work (still kept my ssi and medicaid) and started my own non-profit organization. I also bought my own house and had the goverment remodel it for me. Here is ow you start: 1. call your local rehabilitation service commission. every state (county) has one. if you have a disability and qualify to go to school THEY WILL PAY FOR IT! 2. Go to ssa.gov look up social security red book. read it. this book will give you information on how to go to work and still keep some of your ssi. 3. Start a Plan for Achieving Self Support (PASS). you can work part time go to school and get a car paid for without losing any ssi or medicaid. this is what I do for a living now. I am a social security benefit specialist. if you need my help email me at adamleap@ yahoo.com

Since you have a record, it's easier to start working for yourself. Go register with your city as a handyman service. Then place low cost or free ads advertising your painting services. You can make flyers to put up all over town, look around and see where others are putting theirs up; such as the supermarket, senior centers, lamp posts, neighborhood bulletin boards, etc. Go online and get some samples, Vistaprint is a good place to start. Let your company grow slowly, you never know. But in this day in age, its better to start over on your own.

I think it is wonderful that you are willing to learn. It is never too late. Check your local authorities, they often have courses available free of charge for people going back to work. Sometimes if someone gets financial help to pay mortgage  it works in their favour, but if you don't, looking for a job and need to update skills may be just as good reason.

It is difficult to offer a job without knowing anything about a person. Try to say more about you skills and your abilities, why you want to do it as pay your bills, mortgage  or help your family.
